We’re back with another new episode of geekery on GoingLast! In Week in Geek, I chat a little bit about organized play RPG campaigns, and Kenna and I review some of the board games we’ve played recently. And of course we cover all the latest in tabletop news and Kickstarters! Check out the links below for more on anything we talked about this episode!
Welcome back for another great week on GoingLast! This week, we hit Week in Geek hard with all the fun things we’ve been up to. Rich got to introduce D&D to a group for the first time and I played board games all weekend! We also cover the latest tabletop news and kickstarters. Checkout all the links below!
This week, we stick to the basics: Tabletop News and Kickstarters! Of course, with a healthy dose of our Week in Geek. We wouldn’t leave you hanging on what we’ve been getting up to! We also interviewed Shari Spiro from Ad Magic / Breaking Games this week, but the interview was SO AWESOME that it ran too long. So keep an eye out for it to be released as a stand alone interview soon!
Hello all! This week we had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Chris Cieslik of Asmadi Games! Not only am I a big fan of Red7, I’ve also been wanting to ask how he created a game in ONE DAY (see: Meow). We also get the story behind how Asmadi ended up being the publisher of Penny Press after it won Deathmatch: Season One. And if you think that all sounds great – wait until you hear what Asmadi is bringing to GenCon!
This week, GoingLast jumps on the amazingly successful Apocrypha bandwagon! We sit down with designer Mike Selinker and talk about his newest game and the process of bringing it from conception to Kickstarter. With a creepy pre-apocalyptic theme, memorable characters, and a host of fantastic authors and writers joining in, this is a game you won’t want to miss.
This is our 150th Session!!! So we had to have one of the founders of GoingLast back on the show: Justin! And when you get two RPG heads on one show, what are they going to do? TALK RPGS! Rich and Justin get down and dirty with some fun comparisons between Pathfinder and Dungeons and Dragons. No animosity here! We all love both games! As always, we squeeze in some tabletop news and Kickstarters we think you should checkout.
Thank you so much for listening to us. We love doing this and hope that we are improving with every episode! If you have feedback, we’d love to hear it over on twitter (@goinglast) or through our Contact Us page!
Here’s looking forward to another 150 episodes of great minis, ridiculous kickstarter videos and new favorite games!
This week we sat down with Steve Ewoldt of Blackspot Games to discuss his Kickstarter 4 the Birds! You may remember Steve from his appearance on Session 130 or, more likely, on CaH’s Tabletop Deathmatch. Back then his bird shoving game was called What the Flock! It still has all the same humor and all the same surprising amount of strategy that it did before. But now it’s polished and ready for prime time!
As always, we also cover the latest in tabletop news and hot Kickstarters. And coming up next week is our big 150th session! What should we do to celebrate?? Let us know in the comments here, or tweet us @goinglast!
This week we’ve got something a little extra for you, as we meet up with Keith Baker and Dan Garrison to chat about their new role-playing game Phoenix: Dawn Command. Both the unique themes and the mechanics have enthralled Kenna and I for months now and kept us involved as avid playtesters. And on April 6th, you will get the opportunity to support this amazing game as the Kickstarter goes live!
UPDATE: Rich has also been creating great walkthough videos to give you a behind the scenes look at the game before it comes out. He provides breakdowns on the actual mechanics of the game to give you a feel of what makes Phoenix so unique!
Hello all! We’ve been busy! I’ve been occupied with things like GETTING MARRIED – woot woot! Meanhwhile, Rich is using his powers for good and teaching people the ins and outs of Pathfinder. But don’t worry, we’ve also found time to play plenty of board games. Plus tabletop news, enough kickstarters to make your wallet quake and we get a report from Justin – all coming your way!
